Harkening to the days of old-time Hollywood glamour, the 42nd Annual Daytime Emmys were held April 26, 2015, at the famed Warner Bros. lot. The ceremony, which returned to television after a one-year absence, honored daytime's best and featured a sprinkling of both previous and first-time winners.

2015 marked the year that the glitz and glamour returned to the Daytime Emmys. Celebrating its 42nd year, the awardsfest was filled with groundbreaking firsts and some familiar faces that helped put the shine back on daytime's biggest night.

This year's ceremony was held at the famous Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California. But perhaps as a tip of the hat to New York City, where the Daytime Emmys were held for many years, this year's sprawling Red Carpet traversed an outdoor set that resembled a Big Apple streetscape.

"What an eclectic mix of the magnificent bounty that is Daytime Television," said Bob Mauro, President, NATAS. "So many stars lighting up the red carpet at the iconic Warner Bros. Studio Lot in addition to the indefatigable, unparalleled Betty White as our Lifetime Achievement Award honoree. This is a terrific showcase of the power of Daytime Television that will be remembered for years to come!"

This year also marked the ceremony's return to television after a one-year absence that had the ceremony streaming on the Web. The show, which aired on the Pop network, featured a plethora of stars from all of daytime's top genres, as well as the return of two things that fans had been requesting for years: nominees' clips and an In Memoriam tribute.

General Hospital's Anthony Geary extended his record-setting streak of wins. The actor, who has brought anti-hero Luke Spencer to life since 1978, won his eighth Outstanding Lead Actor trophy. His GH cast mate Chad Duell began his journey to multiple wins with his first win in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category.

The Young and the Restless and Days of our Lives tied for Outstanding Drama Series. It marked only the second time that there was a tie for the night's top honor.

The Bold and the Beautiful continued its domination of behind-the-scenes excellence. The CBS soap picked up wins for its writing team and its globetrotting directors. Adding in the Creative Arts portion held on Friday, April 20, B&B came out the most-awarded show this year.

The Emmy ceremony was presided over by smizer extraordinaire Tyra Banks, who made numerous outfit changes, helped give away prizes to fans in the audience, and made her debut as a rap artist.

During the two-hour-and-thirteen-minute broadcast (which ran about ten minutes longer than anticipated), the #DaytimeEmmys hashtag trended on Twitter as one of the most-discussed topics.
