Today's episode was preempted by CBS Sports coverage of the US Open tennis tournament. Regular programming will resume tomorrow.
At home, Eric and Stephanie agonized over Felicia's colon cancer. Stephanie tried to encourage Eric by informing him that Felicia was told by the doctor that she is now cancer free. Stephanie admitted to Eric that she has a new respect for Felicia for having gone through the chemotherapy alone. Stephanie also informed Eric that although Felicia is cancer-free, she would have to be tested for cancer for the next five years because there is a chance that the cancer could re-develop. Stephanie advised Eric that Felicia wants to be the one to inform the rest of the family of her illness.
Ridge called Amber to find out if Thomas was there. Ridge threatened Amber about what would happen if he finds out that they are continuing to have a relationship. Thomas arrived at home and overheard Ridge bashing Amber to Brooke. Thomas was completely disgusted with Ridge for bashing Amber and for treating him like a child. Ridge told Thomas that even though he is 18 years old, Thomas would have to abide by Ridge's rules.
Thomas went to Amber's. Amber would not let Thomas into her apartment. Amber threatened Thomas that if he did not leave she would tell Ridge. Thomas threatened to break down Amber's door. Amber felt as if she had no choice, so she let Thomas into her apartment. Thomas informed Amber of Ridge's intention to inform Stephanie of their friendship. After Thomas left, Amber had bad dreams about Eric, Stephanie, Ridge, Brooke and Rick who were all about to shoot her.
At Rick's, Caitlin told Rick that she is attracted to him and sorry that she promised her father that they would not have sex. Rick agreed to abstain from sex with Caitlin. Caitlin believed that if she was "responsible" and did not have sex with Rick, Hector would approve of her relationship with Rick.
Ridge and Brooke informed Eric and Stephanie that Amber and Thomas were involved in a relationship and found in bed together. They requested that a disbelieving Stephanie talk some sense into Amber. Stephanie called Amber and rudely demanded that she come to the house to speak to her immediately. When Amber arrived Ridge, Eric, Brooke and Stephanie confronted her. Stephanie begged Amber to tell her that what's she has heard about her and Thomas is only a mistake.
Thomas walks in to Eric's house and finds his family ganging up on Amber about her relationship with Thomas. Amber tries to explain how they were just helping each other through a tough time and nothing happened. Amber begs Stephanie to believe her, but Stephanie doesn't want to hear Amber's excuses. Thomas jumps in and demands that they leave Amber alone.
At Massimo's, Jackie gets a call on her cell phone from Deacon. He asks her if she is really happy there and tells her that she should be with him instead. Jackie insists that being with Massimo is what she wants and that now she finally has her family back together. After she hangs up, Massimo enters. Nick arrives and the three sit down for a meal together. Jackie doesn't eat much and blames her lack of appetite on all that has happened recently. Nick is called away by an important phone call. Massimo tells her that he understands the stress Jackie felt at trying to live up to the Marone name. Jackie is glad that he understands, but is saddened when he says that he will help her learn how to act like a proper Marone.
Nick arrives at Deacon's and asks what the emergency is. Deacon explains how Massimo asked him to follow Jackie to see if she was having an affair. Nick can't believe his mother would do that, but Deacon assures him that he saw Jackie with another man. Nick asks who it is.
Nick asks Jackie if she came back to Massimo for his sake, but Jackie insists she is committed to her marriage.
Jackie is furious with Deacon for going to Nick, but Deacon kisses her. Jackie blurts out that she loves Massimo and runs out of Deacon's beach house.
Thomas tries to comfort Amber, and they begin to make love.
Ridge has a restraining order put on Amber to keep her away from Thomas.
Due to CBS Sports coverage of the US Open tennis tournament, the entire CBS Daytime lineup – As the World Turns, The Bold and the Beautiful, Guiding Light and The Young and the Restless – was preempted. These preemptions were accounted for and there will be no "lost" episodes.
Regular programming will resume on Monday, September 13th and pick up where Thursday's shows concluded.
