The Young and the Restless star Mishael Morgan (Amanda Sinclair) took to social media to share the news of a deep, personal loss. Her beloved grandmother, Maria "Shooney" Forgenie, passed away on July 23 at the age of 96.
“Today we lay down THE Strongest woman I know,” Morgan shared in a heartfelt Instagram post. "Her power, wisdom and love has always been in my heart no matter how far I flew. I am beyond honoured to be your granddaughter and to be here as we lay you to rest. Raise a glass for a true Trini Queen. The matriarch of our family. Love you grandma, rest in power.”
Morgan's daytime family was quick to offer condolences.
“Sending you and your family so much love and prayers,” Tracey Bregman (Lauren Fenmore) replied. Days of our Lives star Tamara Braun said she was “Sending love.”
This is the third significant loss for Morgan in recent years. Her father, Michael Morgan, passed away in November 2019. "Daddy, all that I have, is a 'thank you' that rises from the depths of my soul," Morgan wrote at the time. "Thank you for loving me when I didn't deserve it, trusting me when I didn't trust myself, and seeing me when no one else did. Thank you for inspiring me to be the greatest version of myself, and for expecting nothing less."
In April 2020, Morgan's Great Aunt Semoy died.
