It doesn't look like Shemar Moore will be reprising his role as The Young and the Restless' Malcolm Winters anytime soon, but the next best thing is in the works: he's returning to Criminal Minds as Derek Morgan.
The popular actor, who left the CBS primetime series in 2016 after an eleven-year run, will be featured as a guest star in the season 12 finale airing Wednesday, May 10, TV Line reports. The storyline will heavily feature Moore's Derek, who brings the BAU a lead in a case against serial killer/escaped convict Mr. Scratch, who has terrorized the team all season.
This isn't the first time Moore has made an unexpected return to a series he formerly called home. He famously reprised his role as Y&R's Malcolm for a couple of episodes back in 2014.
As previously reported, Moore just recently signed on to CBS' upcoming series S.W.A.T., which was inspired by the 2003 film of the same name.
