James Lastovic was born in Santa Rosa, California. At the age of 7, his mother attempted to get him into acting, but he decided to go into sports instead. It wasn't until senior year of high school that his interest for acting peaked, and he decided to give it a shot by taking a few classes on the side. Lastovic was set to go to college on a wrestling scholarship, until he was injured. While all his friends were headed to four year universities, Lastovic made the decision to take a different path and head to Los Angeles to push for his acting career.
Lastovic made the move from San Diego to Los Angeles when he was only 18 years old. He worked at a restaurant for a year until getting his feet wet after earning a spot in a play called "Leaving Home" in Santa Monica. Soon after that, he booked his first big gig as Joey Johnson, Steve and Kayla's troubled teenage son, on NBC's Days of our Lives. When he is not busy on set, he enjoys surfing, writing and spending time in San Diego with his friends and family.
