Emmy Award-winning actress Leann Hunley was born and raised in Forks, Washington. The youngest in a family of four children, her beautician mother and fisherman father supported her in all her ambitions.
While visiting Los Angeles, Leann met with Universal Studios talent scouts who signed her as a contract player. By the time Universal disbanded the program, Leann had appeared in many episodics for the studio.
Leann was cast in the role of Anna on Days of our Lives in 1982. In July 1986, she won an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of the multi-faceted character.
Leann has guest starred on many series including LA Law, Designing Women, Who's the Boss, three episodes of Murder, She Wrote, Just Shoot Me and more recently, a recurring role on Gilmore Girls. She also appeared in a number of pilots, including Hot Prospects, in which her leading man was George Clooney.
In 1986, Leann joined the cast of Dynasty as a series regular. For two seasons, she played the role of Dana Carrington. She followed that role by playing the dynamic Eden Antonio in Jackie Collins' six-hour miniseries Lucky/Chances for NBC. She went on to appear on Models, Inc. for Fox TV and also recurred in the Fox sitcom Daddy Dearest.
Leann was seen for two seasons on Dawson's Creek in which she played the controversial role of Tamara Jacobs, the school teacher who had an affair with one of her teenage students played by Joshua Jackson. She then appeared in the Disney TV movie Horse Sense with Joey Lawrence.
Leann has been in a number of feature films, including The Beverly Hillbillies, Your Guardian, and Simone.
