Jim Fitzpatrick joined the cast of "All My Children" in June, 1995, as Pierce
Riley. Pierce is a loner who fled from society after suffering a traumatic event during army service in El Salvador. He has formed bonds with two other society "misfits," Laura Kirk and Janet Green, who have found solace in
Pierce's isolated cabin in the woods.
Jim was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but grew up and attended high school in
Seminole, Florida. Jim graduated from Illinois State University, and studied
acting at the Actors Studio.
Jim appeared in many feature films, including "The Curse of the Starving Class" with James Woods, "The Glass Shield," "The Last Spring," "Crazy in Love" and "D.A.R.Y.L."
Television credits include "South of Sunset," "Sweating Bullets," "Guts and
Glory," "Anything But Love," "Tour of Duty," "Designing Women," "The New Gidget," "Miami Vice," "Days of our Lives," "Santa Barbara" and "Capitol."
Jim has also starred in over 35 plays in theaters around the country.
Productions include "A Streetcar Named Desire," "Barefoot in the Park,"
"Seascape" and "Love is a Lemon."
Before becoming an actor, Jim played football with the Tampa Bay Bandits (owned by Burt Reynolds) from 1983-1985.
Jim is married to actress Jodi Knotts and they are the proud parents of baby Jamieson, born August 11, 1994. Jim enjoys writing screenplays, theatrical
plays and poetry. He is an avid painter and likes to sing blues and jazz.
Jim left the role of Pierce Riley in early May 1996 in a shroud of controversy.
