Born in Dana Point in the early 1970s, Melinda Clarke is the daughter of actor John Clarke and ballet dancer Patricia. She moved to Los Angeles at the age of 18, and in less than three days had landed the role of Faith on Days of Our Lives. One of her most noted film roles (at least to fans) has always been Return of the Living Dead 3. Interestingly enough, that experience so soured Clarke on the horror genre that she turned down the role of Tatum in 1996's Scream, which ended up going to Rose McGowan.
After leaving DAYS, Melinda went on to a number of small film roles and guest appearances, and even had a short run in an Aaron Spelling series Heaven Help Us, but made a new name for herself in 1997 when she joined the cast of the Canadian/American production Soldier of Fortune, Inc., and was one of three main cast members who went on to star in the spin-off, SOF: Special Ops Force.
Melinda is more than just a talented actress though. She is also a trained coloratura soprano, and has performed in a number of musicals as well. She has been married to actor Ernie Mirich since 1997, with whom she shares a daughter, born in 2001. During her time on DAYS, she was credited as Mindy Clarke. Her most recent role is guest-starring as Julie Cooper on the new FOX series The O.C.
