Over a dozen working actors participated in a new public service announcement that puts the spotlight on people who are living with disabilities, as they are particularly threatened by the novel coronavirus pandemic. Two of the actors featured in the PSA have soap roots: Patrika Darbo, known for her roles as Days of our Lives' Nancy Wesley and The Bold and the Beautiful's Shirley Spectra, and Danny Woodburn, known for his role as B&B's Ken and a demon elf on Passions.
The PSA, which was organized by filmmaker John W. Lawson, urges the public to self-isolate in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, which especially affects seniors, people with disabilities, and those who are immunocompromised.
Actors to appear alongside Darbo and Woodburn include Daryl "Chill" Mitchell, RJ Mitte, Micah Fowler, Nic Novicki, Marilee Talkington, Sammi Haney, Tobias Forrest, Angel Giuffria, Danny J. Gomez, Blair Williamson, and Diana Elizabeth Jordan.
Everyone who appears in the video is linked by their active participation in the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge, which was founded by Novicki and gives filmmakers -- with and without disabilities -- the opportunity to collaborate to tell unique stories that showcase disability in its many forms.
