BethAnn Bonner (Talia Sahid) will exit One Life to Live in the weeks ahead. The news comes only a short time after the show denied reports that the exit of Bonner's co-star, Kamar de los Reyes (Antonio Vega) would impact her future with the show.
Despite the apparent interest in keeping Bonner around, her character has been little used in recent weeks. As the show prunes its budget to remain profitable, writing out a character that has been underused seems like an easy way to cut costs.
Though the show is remaining mum on the subject, insiders have whispered that de los Reyes will return to help wrap up loose ends involved with Bonner's exit.
Bonner joined the cast of One Life to Live in December 2006. Ironically, the actress had auditioned for the show via the third season of the reality series, I Wanna Be A Soap Star. The prize for winning the reality contest was a 13-week contract role on One Life to Live. Bonner fell short in the competition, but One Life to Live execs were so impressed with her skills that they invited her to New York to go through the more traditional casting process for another role.
Viewers can expect a very dramatic exit for Bonner, who finished taping at One Life to Live on March 2. A final airdate has not yet been announced. The role of Talia will not be recast.
