Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful likely have the song "London Bridge is Falling Down" stuck in their heads -- minus the London part! Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) -- affectionately dubbed "Bridge" by fans -- are once again on the rocks, and viewers aren't sure whether or not the marriage between the popular pair will survive the holidays.
As viewers have seen, the long-term lovers are at odds over Thomas' (Matthew Atkinson) decision not to tell Hope (Annika Noelle) that her baby was alive so he could get her to become his wife and be a mother to his son, Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri). Brooke and Ridge have separated over the ordeal, which left the door open for Shauna Fulton (Denise Richards) to swoop in and shower Ridge with support and flirtation. The whole situation spells big trouble for Bridge, which Thorsten Kaye previews in a new interview.
"Brooke hasn't been paying attention to Ridge and she's been pushing him away," the actor tells TV Insider. "Ridge likes having someone to talk to. Right now, that's Shauna."
But even if Shauna weren't in the picture, Kaye believes Brooke and Ridge would still be in the same boat.
"The problems between Ridge and Brooke run much deeper than Shauna. Brooke knows that nothing happened between Ridge and Shauna," he says. "Their main issue is Thomas. If Brooke is Ridge's partner for life, she should understand what Thomas means to Ridge."
Obviously, she doesn't -- or if she does, her own opinions on the matter trump the way Ridge feels, and there's no telling when or if the pair will get over this hurdle and reunite. In any case, Kaye says that there's no way Ridge would choose another woman over Brooke. It's just too bad Ridge isn't confident that the same can be said for Brooke!
"Brooke has always been the one. There's nobody else," Kaye says of the way Ridge feels about his wife. "But...if Brooke turns to Bill [Don Diamont] during this time...I don't know why she'd go back to him. Or why he'd turn to her after what Katie's [Heather Tom] been through."
