It's a jungle out there, and The Bold and the Beautiful's Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan) fell apart under the pressure; just one week after joining the Australian reality series I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, the actress was shockingly voted off.
Lang learned her fate during the Monday, February 4, episode of the series that follows a group of celebrities living together in an Australian jungle camp. And the word devastated might not be dramatic enough to describe her reaction, which includes a major, tear-filled breakdown.
"I'm so disappointed!" she wailed upon learning of her elimination.
As Soap Central previously reported, Lang was a surprise cast member on I'm a Celebrity, with news of her joining the show happening just as she was revealed as a contestant last week. During an interview after her elimination, Lang cried that being cut so quickly means that she is "the most boring person" on the program, which only added to the real hurt: her elimination means she won't win the grand prize, which would have been a large sum of money given to her chosen charity, Breakaway from Cancer.
"I wanted more time, I wanted more challenges, I wanted to get to know people better," she cried. "I wanted to try and win for my charity!"
As fans may recall, Lang chose Breakaway from Cancer because she lost her father and three of her grandparents to the disease and doesn't want others to feel the same hurt and confusion she and her family felt about their deaths.
"I never understood when my dad died," she explains of losing her father when she was just thirteen years old. "It happened fast, and we found out too late. There wasn't much we could do, but it seemed like nobody could do anything to help. That was really frustrating... "[Breakaway is] really amazing. They do so much for the people that are struggling with cancer. They're very dear to my heart."
Though Lang's stint on I'm a Celebrity was short, it was action-packed. She faced several trials, including the dreaded Sunday Slam obstacle course (which she rocked) and a Scrotal Recall challenge where she and Tahir Bilgic were dunked and coated in all sorts of horrible delights, which fans can view below.
