Soap fans who tuned in to last night's How to Get Away with Murder saw a familiar face pop up on the ABC primetime drama: former The Bold and the Beautiful star Rome Flynn (ex-Zende Forrester).
The actor joined season four of the series in the role of Gabriel Maddox, a mystery character rumored to be the son of either Bonnie (Liza Weil) or Annalise (Viola Davis). At this time, it's unclear if he has joined in a recurring or series regular capacity, but it looks like the role could come with a lot of potential if the show is picked up for season five.
"Obviously [Gabriel's identity] is a big mystery," says How to Get Away with Murder showrunner Peter Nowalk. "We're hinting that it's Bonnie's kid. All we know is that Frank called someone and said, "Her kid's here." That pronoun, her, covers a lot of our characters, and maybe characters we don't know. We don't know who Frank is talking to, so that's really a huge mystery for the next season... If it's Bonnie, the question is: Does she know? Or does she not know? I think her reaction will come from there. But all of these questions are things that I want people to think about, and just ponder over the hiatus."
Flynn joined B&B in 2015 and decided to leave the CBS drama in 2017. Since then, he has made guest appearances on NCIS: New Orleans and the rebooted version of MacGyver. He's also scheduled to appear in the film A Madea Family Funeral this year.
"Now y'all knoooww I'm not answering anything plot related," Flynn teased on Twitter about his new gig as Gabriel. "Btw, I asked God to bless me & I would speak his name on the highest stage. Thank you God."
