The Bold and the Beautiful is continuing its recent history of hiring special guest stars for wedding storylines with the announcement that legendary radio personality and game show icon Wink Martindale will be presiding when Bill (Don Diamont) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) tie the knot.
"I've finally made it!" the 82-year-old former host of Tic Tac Dough and Debt joked to TV Insider. "When I was a boy growing up in Tennessee, my mother, God bless her, always wanted me to be a preacher. She'd say, 'Son, with your voice, I think God intended you to do work in the ministry.'"
Martindale became a famous American disc jockey instead, but when he got the call to come in to B&B, he says his first thought was, "'Mom would be so proud.' She got her wish at last!"
Unfortunately, B&B viewers who wish for Brooke and Bill to successfully say their "I do's" may not be so lucky. A show rep told the publication that Martindale's character, Reverend Brown, "finds himself in an extremely awkward situation, along with the rest of the wedding guests, when the bride-to-be fails to make an appearance. Turns out, she's upstairs with her ex-hubby Ridge, [Thorsten Kaye] who is desperately trying to convince her not to marry Bill!"
For more information on Martindale's upcoming appearance -- which will take place on October 26, 27, 28, and 31 -- check out his full TV Insider interview here.
