Emmy-winning soap opera vet Rena Sofer is joining the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful in a newly created role.
Sofer will play the role Quinn Fuller, according to TV Guide's Michael Logan. Sofer will play the on-screen mom of another recently added character, Wyatt Fuller, to be played by Days of our Lives alum Darin Brooks.
"Mama is as mysterious as Sonny Boy and both have secrets that will rock the soap," Logan teases.
Sofer made her daytime debut as Joyce Abernathy on Another World in 1987. The following year, Sofer began a three-year stint as Amelia "Rocky" McKenzie on Loving. From 1994 to 1996, Sofer starred as Lois Cerullo on General Hospital, a role that earned her an Outstanding Supporting Actress Daytime Emmy in 1995. Cerullo returned to the show in 1997 for a handful of guest appearances, but in 2004, the actress expressed her disappointment that she wasn't approached when ABC announced plans to bring the character back to the canvas.
Since leaving daytime, Sofer has kept busy with primetime work. She's had recurring roles on NCIS, Heroes, and 24, and made dozens of guest appearances on other series.
Sofer reports to work at B&B for the first time later today. She will make her first on-air appearance on July 12.
