Former As the World Turns star Billy Magnussen (ex-Casey Hughes) is set to join Hollywood stars Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams in the upcoming comedy film Game Night.
Deadline reports the actor's deal is in the process of closing for the New Line/Warner Bros. film that centers around a group of couples who are caught up in a very real game night when their regularly scheduled gathering suddenly turns into a real murder mystery.
Magnussen is set to play Ryan, a friend to Bateman and McAdams' characters, Max and Annie. "He usually dates hot millennial girls with zero personality, but Ryan brings Sarah, a smart woman of an appropriate age with personality, to game night because he's tired of being made fun of for being shallow," the outlet reports. "Ryan is normally very selfish and superficial, but he grows to appreciate Sarah's humor and intelligence, and falls in love with her."
Filming is scheduled to begin next month in Atlanta.
UPDATE (February 3, 2018): The official trailer for Game Night has been released. The film is set to open in theaters on February 23, 2018
