Hot on the heels of the news that fans will be seeing Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley Santos, All My Children) as the host of ABC's new game show, Generation Gap, comes news that the actress has set a release date for her memoir, Live Wire.
The book -- described as an honest collection of stories about childhood, motherhood, marriage, and work -- was previously reported as being available in April, but Ripa took to Instagram to share that it will actually be available for purchase on Tuesday, September 27. The book is available for preorder now from Amazon and other online retailers.
"My husband [Mark Consuelos, ex-Mateo Santos, AMC] said writing a book is like giving birth. He's never done either. Although it would be like giving birth, if giving birth lasted 18 months. A labor of love nonetheless," she joked, adding that pre-order is an option "for those who love long winded short stories."
As Soap Central reported last year, Live Wire is a super honest, comedic page-turner filled with personal essays about Ripa's career and personal life. The book is written in a sharp and funny way that shows "the many dimensions and crackling wit" of the beloved daytime talk show host.
"Whether recounting how she and Mark really met, the level of chauvinism she experienced on set, how Jersey Pride follows her wherever she goes, and many, many moments of utter mortification -- in which she proves that you cannot, in fact, die of embarrassment -- Kelly always tells it like it is," says the official book description. "Ms. Ripa takes no prisoners."

Ripa made her debut as punky All My Children character Hayley Vaughan (later Santos) in 1990 and played the role until 2002. For the last 21 years, she's been a co-host on several iterations of ABC's talk show Live with Kelly and Ryan (including Live! with Regis and Kelly, Live! with Kelly, and Live! with Kelly and Michael).
