Fans who tuned in to Monday's episode of Live! with Kelly and Ryan were treated to an All My Children reunion of sorts when co-host Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley Santos) welcomed her former AMC costar Josh Duhamel (ex-Leo du Pres) as a guest on the talk show. But before he made his appearance, Ripa shared some sweet memories of how great the actor was with her first child, Michael (whose dad is AMC alum Mark Consuelos [ex-Mateo Santos]).
"This morning when we were setting up and he was doing his sound check, I had to grab Michael, and I said, 'I want you to see somebody,'" Ripa began. "When we both worked at All My Children together, Josh -- there's a handful of people that I would say are born to be parents that I've known in my life, Josh being one of them. He was like a young kid, he was in his very early 20s when we had Michael, and he would sit and play with Michael, who was a toddler, for hours, and Michael used to call him the 'Iron Giant.'"
Ripa explained that Michael was a big fan of the 1999 animated film, which follows a giant alien robot, and he thought Duhamel was a giant himself!
"Josh compared to his parents looked like a giant. He was like, 'Who knew that adults came in this size!'" Ripa shared with a laugh. "He's used to looking down on adults, but Josh, he was like, 'You're the largest person I've ever seen.'"
Ripa went on to report that Duhamel and her son had a sweet reunion, sharing, "It was nice for them to reconnect this morning."
As fans may know, Duhamel became a father himself back in 2013, when he and his ex-wife, Fergie, welcomed their son, Axl Jack.
