Need help tapping into your creativity? Allow All My Children alum Colin Egglesfield (ex-Josh Madden) to help with his new book, "Agile Artist: Life Lessons From Hollywood and Beyond."

Tapping into one's creative process is an individual experience, but All My Children alum Colin Egglesfield (ex-Josh Madden) is hoping that he can be of assistance to those who struggle with finding their creativity. In his new book "Agile Artist: Life Lessons From Hollywood and Beyond," the actor tackles the challenge of finding one's authentic self.

Before finding success as an actor in the early 2000s, Egglesfield was on the verge of committing to medical school, as he believed that following an artistic path wasn't realistic. However, a chance encounter with an acting class changed his entire life, which is the impetus that sets off the story of "Agile Artist."

According to the book's official Amazon description, "Colin shares lessons he learned from his struggles to make a career in Hollywood, finding courage and support through personal health battles and tragedies. Along the way he shares the riveting story of his ground-zero experience on 9/11 as well as his social impact projects in Chicago. This is the story of Colin's journey into creative discovery and his attempts to connect with a more authentic version of himself to become an Agile Artist."

Egglesfield's book also promises to help readers break through to their own creative, true selves, and shares details on how fans can join his artist community, "where together, we can all support, motivate and share who we are to create not only better lives but a better world."

Says the actor: "The creative process makes me feel alive -- which is why I wrote a whole book on it! Discover your creative self. You deserve it!"

Egglesfield starred on AMC from 2005 to 2009 before going on to join series like Melrose Place, The Client List, Rizzoli & Isles, and Chicago Fire. In addition to acting, he also runs his own New York City-based clothing company Shout Out Clothing!, which he principally uses as a vehicle to promote and support educational initiatives such as Project Grad and other "Stay in School" programs.
