Former All My Children actress Sylvia Miles (ex-Jackie Diamond) has passed away. The Oscar-nominated actress was 94 years old.

Oscar-nominated actress Sylvia Miles, whom soap opera fans know from her role as All My Children's Jackie Diamond, passed away on June 12 at the age of 94. Her death was confirmed by her friend and publicist, Mauricio Padilha, who said she died in an ambulance on the way to a hospital.

Although known for her Academy Award-nominated roles in films like Midnight Cowboy and Farewell, My Lovely, Miles also appeared on AMC in 1982 as Jackie Diamond, the pornographer Jenny Gardner had a run-in with in New York City. She also made an appearance as Stella on One Life to Live in 1999.

A native of NYC, Miles attended Washington Irving High School and Pratt Institute. She studied at the Actors Studio before beginning her career on stage in the late 1940s and then moving to film and television. Some of her credits include Murder, Inc, Parrish, Sex and the City, Life on Mars, Wall Street, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, and She-Devil.

As the New York Times reports, Miles became famous for attending parties, events, and numerous red carpets in eye-catching clothes and hats. The phrase "she would attend the opening of an envelope" has been credited to comedian Wayland Flowers to describe her and Andy Warhol.
