Your eyes weren't playing tricks on you over the weekend! That was indeed former All My Children star Abigail Spencer (ex-Becca Tyree) in a blue and white polka dot dress at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding.
Soap fans who tuned in to the spectacular event may have noticed the actress, who currently stars on the NBC series Timeless, photographed alongside Priyanka Chopra, during the arrivals portion of the ceremony. Several of Markle's former Suits costars were in attendance on Saturday, and Spencer was one of them. The two women have actually been close for about a decade, but their bond was tightened when they were both cast on the popular law series (Markle as Rachel Zane and Spencer as Dana Scott) back in 2011.
Whether or not the longtime friends have discussed their soap opera histories is up for speculation, but both actresses got their starts in daytime. As Soap Central previously reported, Markle's first acting credit is the role of General Hospital's Nurse Jill. (Funny enough, her father, Thomas Markle, has also worked on the ABC soap opera, albeit as a lighting director.)
Spencer's first acting credit is also a soap opera; she played AMC's Becca from 1998 to 2000 before going on to make name for herself in series like Suits, Timeless, Madmen, Hawthorne, True Detective, and Grey's Anatomy.
Says Spencer about Markle: "Everywhere she walks, it's like, little love notes come out of the bottoms of her feet. She's just a wonderful friend, and human, and very gracious."
In related news, NBC has yet to announce whether or not Timeless will be back for a third season.
