As previously reported earlier this month by Soap Central, Cady McClain (Dixie Martin) is returning to All My Children. But in a surprise, McClain's first on-screen appearance will take place much sooner than anticipated
"My first air date [is] Tuesday, May 17th!" McClain announced via Twitter.
Though McClain's return to All My Children has been rumored since ABC announced the show's cancellation on April 14, it wasn't until the end of April that the Emmy-winning actress confirmed that her return was a done deal.
"Finally -- I can confirm the rumors. I am returning to AMC," McClain told fans on April 29. "Very happy to be a part of this historical serial drama during its final curtain call. Think you will be happy with this story. Can't say anything but that it's a classic!"
Sadly, this will not be the first time that McClain has helped wrap up a long-running daytime drama series. In 2010, McClain returned to As the World Turns to help the 54-year-old soap conclude its run.
McClain made her AMC debut in 1988 and played Dixie Cooney off-and-on through 2007. She appeared briefly in April 2010 when Dixie welcomed her Uncle Palmer to heaven.
